Our offer

Fixed price before we start. No surprises.

The biggest worry with an electrician is an open-ended hourly bill. So you get a written, itemised quote first, and the price is locked once you say yes. Small jobs can be quoted from photos. If the job takes us longer than we planned, that is on us, not you.

How it works

From first call to a certified job

Four clear steps, with a real person you can call at every stage.

  1. 1

    Tell us about the job

Call, chat or send the form. Small jobs can be quoted from photos; bigger ones get a visit at a time that suits.

  2. 2

    Your fixed price

A written, itemised quote. The price is locked once you say yes, and if the job takes us longer, that is on us.

  3. 3

    The work, done tidily

A licensed electrician turns up when we said, does the work to the standards and cleans up after themselves.

  4. 4

    Tested and certified

Everything is tested before we leave, and you get your Certificate of Compliance for any wiring work.

Our work

We are proud of our work

Neat switchboards with every circuit labelled, cable runs hidden where they can be, and floors vacuumed before we leave. Every job is tested before we go.

Older Christchurch homes often need the most work. Read about switchboard upgrades, house rewiring or EV charger installation.

Common questions

Electrical questions, answered

More in our electrician FAQs and the electrician prices guide.

How do I check an electrician is licensed?

Ask to see their practising licence and check the expiry date. WorkSafe says the licence colour changes every two years. The Electrical Workers Registration Board can confirm registration on 0800 66 10 00.

What is a Certificate of Compliance (CoC)?

A CoC shows prescribed electrical work was done by a licensed electrician, meets the safety standards and was tested. Electricians must issue one for any fixed wiring work, including a new power point. Keep it, because insurers and buyers may ask for it.

What is an Electrical Safety Certificate?

Once an installation is connected and the person who did the work is satisfied it is safe to use, they issue an Electrical Safety Certificate. It must be issued within 20 working days of connection, and you should get a copy.

Which jobs need an inspector?

High-risk work, such as work on the main switchboard, the main cable and the main earth, must be inspected by a licensed electrical inspector. Your electrician arranges this and you receive a record of inspection.

What electrical work can I legally do myself?

On your own home, within limits, you can replace fuse links, connect and disconnect fixed-wired appliances, and replace switches, sockets and light fittings that do not involve the switchboard, among a few other tasks. The work must be done and tested to the required standard. Legal is not the same as safe: anything on the switchboard or on old rubber wiring is a job for an electrician.

Do I need a CoC to replace a light fitting?

Not for like-for-like maintenance, such as replacing a socket or light fitting. New fixed wiring, such as an extra power point or a new circuit, needs a CoC.
